The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in AAUP Finalizes the Preparations for its 2021 Annual Conference Entitled “The Age of Populism”

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in AAUP announced that they have finalized the preparations of the third annual conference entitled “The Age of Populism” that will be held 22 Oct. 2021 and ends on 24 Oct. 2021.

This conference is out of the vision and academic and community responsibility of Arab American University, especially that this year it focuses on the “populism” that has grown during the past years and how this topic has exploit loopholes in the implementation of democracy in many countries of the world.

The conference will be held at the Arab American University via Zoom Webinar, and will host 15 international intellectual and academic from USA, Latin America, Europe and many Arab countries and Palestine.

AAUP and ACT Sign MoU

Dr. Iyad Yaqoub - The Head of the Board of Directors of the Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in Arab American University and Mr. Mohammad Hadia- Representing ACT signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between both parties to enhance their joint work.

Dr. Iyad Yaqoub ensured that agreements with the civil society organizations are very important in order to benefit from the experiences of others and transfer knowledge to students and trainees, and to train students _especially students of Conflict Resolution and Intercultural Communication_ on the needed skills that will develop them and provide better opportunities in the labor market for them.

Workshop about Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in AAUP organized an online workshop about the reality of conflict resolutions and reconciliation in Palestine among the project of enhancing the national efficiency in the conflict resolution and reconciliation researches funded by the European Union under collaboration with Hebron University, Islamic University – Gaza, Friedrich-Schiller University and University of Granada.

Ms. Rula Shawan- te project coordinator and the PCRSC Manager started the session by welcoming the speakers and the guests of the workshop and providing a summery about the objectives of this project while stressing on the importance of the collaboration between universities and the civil institutions that work in the conflict resolution and reconciliation field.
