In a ceremony attended by Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President, Dr. Hassan Yassin- the VP for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Mo’ayad Abu Saa’- the VP for Academic Affairs, Eng. Bara’ Asfour- the Assistant to the President along with other faculty members and staff, Arab American University honored some of its excellent researchers who had their researches published in an ISI classified scientific journal and some excellent and hardworking academics and administrators.
Prof. Abu Zuhri welcomed the audience and congratulated the researchers, academics and administrators on their excellence in their researches and work. He assured that this honoring is part of AAUP philosophy in appreciating the efforts of its staff and in encouraging others to positive competition to increase work creativity in the university environment.
Moreover, Prof. Abu Zuhri encouraged all academics and researchers to keep up the hard work and conduct more diverse scientific researches to publish in the different international scientific journals. He asserted that AAUP will always support researchers especially that it is a priority to the university now develop the scientific research that will in turn provide solutions to many of the challenges that face the Palestinian community and provide services to humanity everywhere. Arab American University will be a scientific and research beacon.
Prof. Abu Zuhri also commended the role of the academics who got promoted and their academic ranks were adjusted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor; and from Associate Professor to Professor. He wished them all the best to come.
The University choir did a performance in the ceremony, and the ceremony was concluded by the honoring for the excellent researchers, the academics and the administrators.
And on the occasion of AAUP 20th year, three employees were honored: Rowaida Awad, Ra’eda Faraj and Hassan Al Sa’id, who joined the first staff of the university in its first year and they are still working in the university until this day.
