The Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Arab American University, Dr. Rezeq Salmoodi, won first place in the Legal Scientific Research Award at its first session for 2023 in the field of human rights.
The research project was titled “Guarantees of a Fair Trial in the Weak State: Areas C as a Model”, Dr. Salmoodi stated. In his research project, Dr. Salmoodi touched upon the jurisdiction of the Palestinian judicial control bodies over areas, which are classified “C” according to the Oslo Accords and the obstacles that the Israeli occupation places before the judicial control authorities as they exercise jurisdiction over these areas. Moreover, the researcher dealt with the dire consequences resulting from the obstacles placed by the Israeli occupation as well as the proposed solutions to overcome them.
The President of the Arab American University, Professor Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, expressed pride in the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Rezeq Samloodi, winning first place in the Legal Research Award. Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri pointed out that this is a pride for the Arab American University, which has always had great interest in scientific research as one of its three goals to develop as well as to encourage academics and students.
