AAUP Receives the Turkish Cultural Attaché in Palestine to Discuss Collaboration

Mr. Raha Armamjo- the Turkish Cultural Attaché in Palestine and Dr. Abdulqadir Staih- the Head of the Turkish Cultural Center in Ramallah visited Arab American University to discuss cultural collaboration and some joint interest issues, and to enhance the collaboration relations between AAUP and other Turkish universities and scientific and research centers.

Dr. Moyad Abu Saa- the VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Musdaq Barahmeh- the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Atef Qasrawi- the Physics Professor in AAUP and Dr. Fadi Jumaa- the Public Relations Manager were in their reception.

Both parties discussed the opening of new Turkish Language courses in Arab American University to fulfill the needs of the students, especially because Palestine has great cultural, scientific, commercial, historical and tourism relations with Turkey. This will positively affect the relations between the countries when students will know the language and then will spread it in Palestine.

During the meeting, they also discussed ideas to promote scientific and cultural relations between Arab American University and the Turkish universities and scientific and research centers.

The attaché then had a tour inside and around the campus to learn about the faculties, the centers and its educational role in Palestine. They also visited the sports village in AAUP and the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Arts.

Mr. Armamjo- the Turkish Cultural Attaché expressed his happiness in his visit to AAUP and praised the educational role of the university and how it adopts the international teaching styles and who it seeks to open relations with the Turkish universities. He explained that the government of Turkey and the Turkish people always stand with the Palestinians in their just and legitimate issues, and that the government is striving hard to consolidate relations between the two peoples at various levels, especially the educational.
