Sunday, March 31, 2024

Researcher Mohammad Ahmad Alawni, a student in the master’s program in emergency nursing, has defended his thesis titled “The Level of Emergency Nurses’ Caring Attitudes and Behaviors during Interaction with Patients at Emergency Departments in Governmental Hospitals at Palestine”.

The study aims to examine the caring attitudes and behaviors of emergency nurses while dealing with patients in emergency departments in Palestine.

The researcher conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study consisting of 187 male and female nurses from emergency departments in government hospitals in the West Bank. A self-questionnaire was used for data collection. The analysis revealed that the CNPI was high, 3.95±0.13, and the results also showed that expression of feelings was the highest subscale, 4.01±0.33, while needs was the lowest subscale, 3.91±0.29. Tukey's post hoc test showed that nurses in northern hospitals were statistically significantly more expressive of emotions below the subscale than nurses in central and southern hospitals at P = .016, .048, on row.

The study concluded that emergency department nurses enjoy a high level of nursing care. In general, the results of the study showed that there was no correlation between nursing care and the four factors studied (age, educational level, experience, and hospital location).

The thesis was supervised by Dr. Dalia Touqan. The committee of examiners included Dr. Imad Thultheen and Dr. Rajaa Zyoud.
