The Entrepreneurship Program from AAUP Entitled "Culture is the Identity to Steadfastness"

Hassib Sabbagh Center in AAUP and under collaboration with PPU Business Incubator, Dar Al-Kalima University College, Just for Development and Entrepreneurship and under support and supervision of Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development organized a training workshop in the field of selecting ideas among the entrepreneurship program entitled “culture is the identity of steadfastness”.

Representing Hassib Sabbagh Center, Mr. Sami Awad opened the workshop by a speech as he welcomed the guests and started by emphasizing on the importance of the workshop that will be a place for entrepreneurship ideas presented by university students and local community members, in order to develop them by this project of “culture is the identity of steadfastness”. Ideas of this project will concentrate on the Palestinian culture and identity in the time when it this hard time, especially as technology will be used to enhance the culture and identity of steadfastness.

Mr. Ali Ramadan- the Manager of PPU Business Incubator presented a detailed explanation about the program and said that its main target is to enhance the culture entrepreneurship in Palestine to empower youths of the West Bank, Jerusalem and inside the green line by establishing and starting pioneer projects in the culture field, in order to contribute in a sustainable social and economic development. Mr. Ramadan clarified that the project will be on a period of 18 months and will be implemented in 4 areas which are Jenin, Ramallah, Hebron and Bethlehem and added that submitting pioneer ideas about culture and national identity will be open for all Palestinian university students and the local community and 80 ideas will be selected.

Additionally, Mr. Ramadan talked about the conditions to participate and explained that the priority will be to the unusual ideas, and he talked about the targeted sectors and the stages of the project.

Both Dr. Loay Shahen and Dr. Diaa Arafeh talked about the intellectual property rights in culture and the procedures for it, while Mr. Mustafa Shata- the Executive Director of Freedom Theater talked about the theater as a success story and talked about the achievements, the goals and the obstacles that they solved. Participants were also trained on the how to find the problems in the culture sector and how to solve them and then how to storm ideas in the same sector.
