Eman Nazzal’s thesis defense

Researcher Eman Nazzal, physics student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her master thesis on “Effect of Indium Nano Layers on the Physical Properties of Gallium Sulfide Flakes”

Researcher studied the effects of planting an indium layer 20-200 nm between two slices of 500 nm gallium sulfide using the physical method of fumigation under air pressure. She also studied the effect of planting indium chips on structure and atomic distribution of elements, optical properties and isolation features. As well as impedance spectrum and heat-based electrical properties.

Researcher Bilal Ghanem defending his thesis

Researcher Bilal Ghanem, student of the computer science program at Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, discussed his master thesis, entitled “Hybrid system for detecting plagiarism in Arabic Language”

He pointed in his thesis that the system is integrating two mechanisms to detect literary thefts, based on laboratory linguistics and multiple meanings sources. The research aimed to discover the importance of merging these resources to improve examinations and literature thefts detection.

The researcher made a pilot study on university students to develop the methods adopted by students in plagiarism and the approach was built based on these studies results.

Researcher Hamza Hegawi defending his thesis

Researcher Hamza “Mohammad Ali” Hegawi, Computer Science Program at Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended his master thesis, titled “Develop Wireless Sensor Nodes using Multi-Client systems”.

The researcher discussed how to reduce the power consumption in wireless sensor nodes to solve the problems that arise in conventional ways of building wireless sensor nodes, such as prolonging the system’s life and rationalizing energy consumption using smart systems.

By end of discussion, the committee, composed of supervisor and chairman of the committee Dr. Amjad Rattroot, external examiner from Polytechnic University of Palestine Dr. Radwan Tahbob and Arab American University internal examiner Dr. Mohammad Hamarsheh, decided to give Researcher Hamza Hegawi a Master degree.
