The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University in Ramallah awarded two master degrees in strategic planning and fundraising, and conflict resolution and development.

The researcher Mohammed Soboh Musa Abu-Shamsieh, a student in the strategic planning and fundraising program, defended his thesis entitled “Determinants Of The Profits Distribution Policy In Public Shareholding Companies, A Case Study from the Palestine Exchange”.

The thesis aimed to identify the most important influencing factors on the profits distributing policy to non-financial companies in the Palestine Exchange and distributing profits to benefit from achieving further growth in the Palestinian market.

Radwan Mahmoud Abu Mowais defense

Researcher Radwan Mahmoud Abu Mowais, a student in the strategic planning and fundraising program at the Arab American University faculty of Graduate Studies, defended his thesis entitled “Credit Risk Assessment Strategies for Commercial Banks listed on the Palestine Exchange”.

In his thesis, researcher examined credit risk strategies used by the commercial banks listed on the Palestine Exchange through the used methods in evaluating customers' requests for credit, recognize whether banks differ in using these methods and whether they differentiate between customers using such methods.

He distributed questionnaires to a number of Palestinian banks that harmonize with the research objectives, to find that all commercial banks in Palestine use valuation methods, they focus more on guarantees and ability to pay and liquidity.

Researcher Abdulrahman Mohammad Nazzal Defense

Abdulrahman Mohammad Nazzal, a Conflict Resolution and Development program student at AAUJ Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended his master thesis titled “Transform the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict through Peaceful Popular Resistance”.

The researcher pointed that the thesis aimed to study the fundamental role of nonviolent popular resistance in transforming the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through every available peaceful mean and tool. He concluded, non-violent resistance have different definitions as international concept. The thesis indicates that there is a deep gap between peaceful resistance in the field on one hand and decision-makers on the other.
