the university’s team qualifies for the final stage in the project of supporting up-coming Palestinian companies "PASS"

AAUP team has qualified for the third and final stage in PASS Competition, which is part of a program implemented by Leaders institution, funded by the Korean Agency for International Cooperation. The team consists of students and graduates from the faculties of Engineering & Information Technology, administrative and financial Sciences, where the team was selection among the top 10 leading projects national wide.

Other universities are also participating in the project as Al-Quds, Birzeit, Al-Najah, and Khadouri".

The idea of the project is to design a device that measures and analyzes ECG signals, using data mining techniques to predict the patient's heart disorder problems and to find a cure for it before complications occur.

Part of the championship

The sports hall at the university hosted the female handball championship for Palestinian universities organized by the Palestinian Union for University Sports, with the participation of four universities: AAUP, Al- Khadouri, AL-Najah and Hebron.

AAUP team won the female handball championship where it took first place. Second place Al-Najah team, third place Hebron university team

Mr. Hassan Nassif, head of the Competitions Committee at the Palestinian Union for University Sports and the supervisor of sports activities at Arab American University, said that this championship is part of the unions activities in the second semester of 2019. That aims to enhance the cooperation among universities in the field of sports.

Maysem Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah specialized in physics

The two researchers at Arab American University, Abeer Abdullah Zaarour (Abu Moyes), specialized in computer science and Maysem Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah, specialized in physics, won the Palestine Islamic Bank Prize for Scientific Research ranking second and third place.  ​

They announced the winners and gave them the financial awarded during the ceremony held at Palestine Polytechnic University in the presence of PLO Executive Committee member Mr. Ahmad Al-Tamimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Palestine Polytechnic University Mr. Refat Tahboub, Director General of the Bank Mr. Bayan Qassem and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence Eng. Adnan Samara.
