The Arab American University in Ramallah hosted the activities of the Palestine Science and Technology Fair, which was organized by the Directorate of Education of Birzeit Schools.

The Palestine Science and Technology Exhibition is a global exhibition supported by Intel. The competition initially takes place at the level of education directorates with engineering and research projects from school students in grades 9-11. It aims to develop thinking outside the box and develop creative skills. At the end, a number of projects are selected through arbitration by specialists, with the aim of representing the directorates in the local competition at the national level, and then at the global level.

On the first day of the exhibition, student teams presented their engineering and technological projects that were arbitrated by a group of specialists. The closing ceremony took place on the second day in the presence of representatives of the Birzeit Education Directorate, supporting institutions, partners, arbitrators, professors, and participating students.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for Medical Faculties Affairs, said that the university is always keen to provide support to all community institutions, expressing his pride and admiration for the projects presented by the participating students. "While touring among the projects, I noticed the enthusiasm among the students to talk about their achievements. We hope that this generation will contribute effectively to the renaissance and elevation of the Palestinian community", he said.

He emphasized that the university is interested in keeping pace with development by offering specialized technological programs for BA and Postgraduate degrees. "We announced new majors in digitization, technology, leadership, and virtual reality to graduate generations that are capable of keeping pace with the modern age and its requirements", he added.

At the end of the ceremony, the Directorate of Education rewarded the participating schools and announced the names of the first three teams that qualified for the competition at the level of the governorates of the country as follows: The first place project was for human identification through artificial intelligence techniques by the two students, Asala Maraba and Sarah Olayan, from Al-Majida Secondary Girls School.
