The University hosted the Central Table Tennis Championship for males and females, organized by the Ministry of Education, as part of the ministry's plan for student sports activities 2019/2020.
AAUP Hosts a Table Tennis Championship for Males and Females
Mr. Arif Asayrah Head of sports activities at Ministry of Education said that "The championship was organized in two groups," The first group contains 8 districts from the north of West Bank and organized in the sports hall at AAUP. The second group contains 9 districts for the middle and south of West Bank organized at Hebron Municipality Sports Hall, where first and second group are to be qualified in the Golden Square within the sixth Olympic Sports School Week, which closes at the beginning of April of next year 2020.
Saying that the championship has several goals, most notably, educational, and entertainment to attract students to schools, in addition to the sports goal, seeking talented students and developing them. Where they are able to reach to clubs and unions that are specialized in developing school sports and therefore Palestinian sports in general.
Mr. Arif Asayrah added that the students are distributed to male and female matches.
Adding that the Ministry had chosen AAUP for several reasons, mainly that AAUP had international sports hall, and the largest in Palestine and for the mutual cooperation between the two bodies.
Mr. Oday Daraghmeh at AAUP added that the university is always ready to host such events, and this comes from the mutual cooperation between the two parties.
