Arab American University girls football team

The Arab American University Girls team won Al-Khamsiat championship for football organized by the Palestinian Sports Union of Universities at Birzeit University, with the participation of five universities: Arab American University, Al-Khadouri Tulkarem, Birzeit, Bethlehem and Jerusalem University- Abu Dis.

The championship was held on half-league system, with Jawad Assi, Nasser Dahbour and Sameh Al-Khawaja.

The results of the championships were as follows:

The game started with Arab American team and Khadouri teams, which ended in the favor AAUP 9-0, Birzeit team won over Bethlehem with 2-0, Bethlehem won over Jerusalem -Abu Dis 1-0, Arab-American won over Birzeit 1-0, Birzeit team won over Khadouri team with 5-0, Arab American won over Jerusalem 1-0, and Arab-American won over Bethlehem 3-0.

Part of the honoring

The President of Arab American University, Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, honored the students from the Faculty of Sport Science whom represented the Palestinian national football team in a number of international, continental and regional championships.

The ceremony was attended by the vice presidents of the university, the Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, the student Khalid Azzam was honored who is the goalie of the Palestine football team who participated in the Asian Cup qualifiers and World Cup qualifiers, and the student Saja Ibrahim was also honored a player in the Olympic Palestinian team, which will participate with the Palestine team qualifiers for the next Olympics in Tokyo, and the student Ali Adawi the first place player in the Palestine team and Olympics, who participated in the Asian Club Cha

Dr. Saba’ Jarrar during her participation as Palestine’s representative in the Drassa Annual Forum for Sports Sciences

Dr. Saba’ Jarrar from the Department of Sports Science at the Arab American University, participated as Palestine representative in the annual Drassa Forum of sports sciences, held in Casablanca, Morocco recently in partnership with the Association of Moroccan Journalists. As a keynote speaker at a forum on “Sport as a Soft-Tool to Improve and Achieve Sustainable Development,” (Drassa: A Research and Development Academy for the UAE Sports Science Activities)

Dr. Jarrar mentioned the UN resolutions that emerged and evolved from the international organizations on sustainable development and social responsibility since 1989, embodied in the eight UN goals of the 2000 Plan. Thus developing the seventeen objectives adopted in 2015 for their 2030 Sustainable Development Plan and the United Nations role by announcing sport as a tool for community development and peacemaking through a 2016 decision that said it is a mean to achieve 2030 sustainable development goals.
