Researcher Raja’i Ihab Baraka, a student in the Master’s Program in Strategic Planning and Fundraising, has defended the thesis titled “Assessment of Business Process Reengineering as a Strategic Planning Practice towards Enhanced Management and Productivity”.

The present study aims to realize the results of applying the principle of process reengineering in the Palestinian private sector, by studying five main variables. These variables are the extent of application of process reengineering, senior management support, communication with employees, rethinking business, the way processes are arranged and their relationship to the results of applying the process reengineering.

The present study used the descriptive analytical approach. Thus, the researcher used the questionnaire as an instrument for data collection. The sample included 197 individuals from the administrative class in Palestinian private sector companies, where the questionnaire return percentage was 78.8%.

The study came up with several results, including the positive correlation between the influential variables and the result of implementing process re-engineering. In addition, the most important reasons that push Palestinian companies to implement process re-engineering are reducing costs, improving quality, improving customer satisfaction, and increasing flexibility for operational work.

The thesis was supervised by Dr. Khalid Rabaya. The committee of examiners included Dr. Ahmed Herzallah and Dr. Khaled Atieh.
