President of Al-Ain University of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Ghalib Rifai visit

Arab American University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri welcomed the Palestinian President of Al Ain University for Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Ghaleb Rifai, visited the university to discuss academic and scientific cooperation, exchanging experiences and teaching staff, organizing students’ visits and conducting joint scientific research.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Rifai welcomed the VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Zaki Saleh, VP for Training Dr. Nizam Diab, President Assistant for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arra, Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Hazem Khanfar, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Abdullah Wolwel and Board Member Jamal Howil.

The Faculty of Dentistry participation at the Arab Orthodontic Conference

Faculty of Dentistry at Arab American University participated in the Arab Orthodontic Conference, held in the Jordanian Capital Amman, Headed by the Jordanian Orthodontic Society with international and Arab presence of specialists and academics in this field.

The University participation was distinguished through presenting two lectures and eight scientific posters. The conference included scientific competition to select best three scientific posters, jury included specialists from Britain, Italy, Spain, Japan and India.

Researcher Hanin Sameh Qarawi, student of conflict resolution and development in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Arab American University, discussed her thesis “The Arab Spring and its Impact on Transforming the Arab-Israeli Conflict”.

She pointed, the study aims to identify the Arab spring revolutions impact on transforming Arab-Israeli conflict. The study concluded, the Arab Spring revolutions reflected negatively on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. They failed to bring progressive and revolutionary forces such as the Nasserist Party in Egypt and the Popular Front in Tunisia to power, restoring the Arab-Israeli conflict to the political front again.

Arab American University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri and VP for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab, welcomed the delegation from Palestinian Public Relations Forum, who visited to know the university and check its programs.

University President Professor Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri welcomed the delegation representing a number of official, private institutions and private sector in Hebron governorate. Stressing on the importance of cooperation with all the country institutions. He pointed, the university has become a scientific edifice to all Palestinians. Emphasizing, it’s an integrated university city, which is always seeking for academic development and scientific research.

Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Mamdouh Saidam, announcing that the Arab American University got accreditation of the first Business Administration PhD program in Palestine

Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Mamdouh Saidam announced that the Arab American University will be the first in Palestine to get accreditation for PhD program in business administration, implemented in partnership with the Indiana University, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Saidam said during the graduation ceremony of the third batch of MBA students that the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has approved the Arab American University special PhD degree program after fulfilling the authority’s requirements.

Researcher Hanan Zeidan Hamamra Thesis Defense

Researcher Hanan Zeidan Hamamra, physics program student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her master thesis entitled “Effects of Mixing Neodymium Tin Oxide Ceramic with Terbium, Samarium, Yttrium and Gadolinium on its Mechanical and Electrical Properties”.

In her thesis, Hamamra investigated structural changes resulting from mixing neodymium tin oxide ceramics with terbium, samarium, yttrium and gadolinium by studying x-ray diffraction, the samples electrical and optical characteristics, calculate changes in structure constant, levels direction, microscopic stress, granules size and defect density resulting from the mixing. Also, mixed ceramic samples optical properties were explored by measuring reflection and access spectra in high absorption area.

Researcher Tamara Yaqub Abed Defense

Researcher Tamara Yaqoub Abed, physics student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her thesis entitled “Effects of Cultivating Ytterbium // Flakes on the Physical Properties of Cadmium Sulfide Chips”.

The researcher discovered the effects of coating 70-nanometer Terbium film between two layers of cadmium sulfide on structural, optical and electrical properties. X-ray diffraction, electronic microscopy scanning, X-ray dispersion, class analysis and electro-thermal technology were used to study these effects. Pointing, coating Terbium fill with two layers of 500-nanometer cadmium sulfide enhances the structural nature of the films without altering their structural constants.

Researcher Majd Riad Assaf Defense

Researcher Majd Riad Assaf, commercial law student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, discussed her thesis on “Legal Regulation of Foreign Firms in Palestine: Study and Comparison”.

In her thesis, she mentioned the regulations for foreign firms, compared the three legislations of Palestinian, Jordanian and Egyptian and she merely addressed some legal texts in Lebanon, Emirates and Qatar which deal with the existence of such firms in their countries.

She concluded, for their sake all countries especially the developing ones, should have foreign companies within their lands to benefit from it; more manpower employment and advancement at all levels especially the economic and technological levels.
