Researcher, student Alaa Ali Shehada Hawamda specialized in Commercial Law at the Faculty of Graduate Studies

The researcher Alaa Ali Shehada Hawamda, a commercial law student at the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University campus in Ramallah, defended his master's degree thesis in commercial law entitled “Arbitration with the Mandate of Reconciliation in the Palestinian Legal System.”

The thesis is the first one in the country where it discussed arbitration with the mandate of reconciliation at all stages of the arbitration process. Researcher Hawamda mentioned the limits and controls of the arbitrator authorized reconciliation authority and this type’s specificity, what are the related problems to the arbitration process due to the lack of rules, comparing the three legislations; Palestinian, Jordanian and Egyptian, and the use of some legal texts.

Researcher Duaa Jamil Qasem Al-Deek, a student, specialized in Strategic Planning and Fundraising

The researcher, Duaa Jamil Qasem Al-Deek, a student specialized in Strategic Planning and Fundraising at the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University's Ramallah Campus, defended her Master degree thesis entitled “Social Responsibility of The Operating Banks in Palestine and its Relationship to Profitability.”

In her thesis, she pointed to who much banks apply social responsibility, its relation to profitability and planning mechanisms. Stressing the importance of the positive relationship between the social responsibility and the working banks’ profitability with their commitment to imply it.

From the workshop

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University in Ramallah organized a workshop in cooperation with Dimension Company, entitled “Reviewing the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Academic Programs, its Relevance to the Labor Market Needs.”

During the workshop, they presented the objectives of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology academic programs and plans and discussed them both with the mechanisms for measuring their relation to the local and Palestinian local market.
