Arab American University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri welcomed Fatah Central Committee member and Chairman of Yasser Arafat Foundation Dr. Nasser Al-Qudwa, who visited the university to check it and participate in the vigil against US President Donald Trump's decision.

Hassib Sabbagh IT Center for Excellence at the Arab American University and the Transcend Company based in Beit Jala, signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate cooperation between the two parties. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of 2017 ExpoTech Convention titled “Innovation and Investment”.

Head of the Center Direcctor Board Eng. Muhanad Al-Hegawi pointed the center most important objectives to create new jobs opportunities and merge private and educational sectors. Explaining, its strategic plan is to attract ideas, institutions, firm and freelancers.

Arab American University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri welcomed the Higher Council for Youth and Sports Assistant Undersecretary Marwan Wishahi and Director of the Palestinian Police Academy Colonel Mansour Khuzaymia, who visited the university to discuss ways of cooperation to activate various student activities locally and regionally.

The University President listened to their suggestions and proposals to activate the students' role in both local and regional activities. Dr. Abu Zuhri stressed on the readiness of the university to organize any activity to benefit the students. Emphasizing on the importance of extracurricular activities that contribute in students' personalities and creativity refinement, both in school or after graduation.

From the workshop

In cooperation with Ministry of Labor, Faculty of Law at the Arab American University organized a workshop entitled “Violations against Workers in Israel” in order to brief students on the Israeli Labor Law and most prominent violations against workers.

Dean of the University Faculty of Law Dr. Basheer Daraghmeh, Director General of Employment at Ministry of Labor Rami Al-Mahdawi, Director of External Employment Abdel-Karim Mardawi, Director of Jenin Employment Yasser Bzour, Palestinian Workers in Israel File Manager Arafat Amro, Legal Department Director at “Worker’s Hotline” Khaled Al-Dukhi, legal researcher Fadi Al-Haj Yahya, and Faculty of Law members and students, all attended the workshop.

University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri hosted a delegation from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, who visited the university to check its Medical academic programs and enhance ongoing cooperation.

The ministry delegation included Director of Oral and Dental Unit Dr. Bahadir Taha, Director of Oral and Dental Health Unit in Jenin Department Dr. Alaa Mousa, the ministry legal adviser Mrs. Arwa Tamimi, and director of Jenin health Dr. Wissam Sbehat.

Alongside with the university president, VP for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Dr. Shokri Kelab, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences Dr. Jumana Daibes, and Director of the University Public Relations Mr. Fathi E’mour welcomed them.

Faculty of Law at the Arab American University in partnership with Women's Affairs Commission and in coordination with Family Protection Department at the Palestinian Police, held a workshop to discuss the draft of family domestic-violence protection law that was attended by group of college students.

Coordinator of the Women Affairs Committee in the North Mrs. Eman Nazzal started by welcoming the audience and thanked both Arab American University for their cooperation and hosting the workshop and Palestinian Police family protection department for their participation. She talked about women's affairs team, stressing it’s a coalition that includes women's frameworks and independent women. Founded in 1992 and seeks to create a free democratic society that guarantees pluralism, social justice and equality to make Palestine violence-free.

Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University Ramallah campus hosted the CEO of the Palestinian Telecommunications Group Mr. Ammar Al-Aker, in a lecture addressing the Group’s license as a case study in the strategic negotiation course for Dr. Dalal Eriqat.

University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, Academic Adviser of the Directors Boaard and Founder President Prof. Dr. Waleed Deeb, and the faculty of graduate studies lecturer Dr.  Dalal Eriqat, all welcomed Al-Aker in his visit.

During the lecture, Al-Aker addressed the Telecommunications Group strategic negotiation experience with the Palestinian National Authority to renew its license that was signed in December 28, 2016.

Jibril Rajoub, Major General of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, and Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, Arab American University President, signed two MoUs to improve the Palestinian Sports in several fields and qualifying the sports’ working staffs.

The two MOUs were signed at the university Ramallah campus in presence of Dr. Waleed Deeb University Board of Directors Academic Advisor and university founding president, Dr. Saba’ Jarar a lecturer at the University Department of Sports Science and Chairman of the Palestinian Federation for Sports Culture.

Faculty of Arts at the Arab American University organized a workshop on journalists’ safety during events coverage, targeting the Arabic Language and Media Department students. Hosting the Palestinian Police Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Loay Erziqat in presence of the Public Relations Director in Jenin Police Lieutenant Colonel Aous Atyani.

The workshop was started by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts Dr. Marwan Abu Al-Rob speech, welcoming the attendees and stressing on the workshop importance to benefit students during involvement in journalism after graduation.

Police spokesman Loay Erziqat stressed on the journalist important role in conveying the Palestinian people image and message to the world. Pointing, it’s a job of troubles. He explained, a policeman has a role to fulfill so as the journalist.

Part of conducting interviews with students for training and employment

The Hassib Sabbagh Center for IT Excellence at AAUJ organized a workshop entitled “The Palestinian Labor Market Challenges” in cooperation with Transcend, in presence of Hassib Sabbagh Center Director Alaa Hattab, Director of Transcend Company Engineer Thaer Al-Aiaseh, and Human Resources Manager Shadi Hamadneh.

Director of Hassib Sabbagh Center Alaa Hattab started it with a welcoming speech. Stressing on its importance to inform students about the essential skills they must possess during applying for work in Palestinian market. He praised Transcend role in developing job opportunities for students and graduates. Also mentioned that the signed MoU means the two parties will train 24 students, selected according to agreed criteria.
