Medical Center in AAUP - Ramallah Campus

The Medical Center in Arab American University- Ramallah Campus announces that they will resume receiving patients starting from Sunday Jan. 17th, 2021 in the specialized clinics of:

  1. Orthodontics.
  2. Periodontal disease.

All treatments are performed by dentists affiliated to the postgraduate programs in dental sciences and under supervision of specialist doctors from Arab American University after planning the best treatment plan for each patient to get the best results.

AAUP- Ramallah Campus Organizes a Graduation Ceremony for the Training Course about "Arbitration, Contracts and Conflict Resolution"

With the participation of 9 trainees from different sectors, Arab American University– Ramallah Campus organized a graduation ceremony for the 30-hour training course “Arbitration, Contracts and Conflict Resolution” that was organized by the Continuing Education Center in Arab American University under collaboration with the Global Professional for Educational Projects.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Prof. Ali Ziedan Abu Zuhri- the University President, Mr. Mohammad Zeyara- the Minister of the Ministry of Public Works, Mr. Riyad Atari- the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Mohammad Haj Qasim- the Head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Mr. Walid Assaf- the Chairman of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission and a representative of the Military Training Body.

Orientation day for new enrolled students in Ramallah Campus

Attended by Dr. Mo’ayad Abu Saa’- the VP for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, the Deans of the Faculties, staff and faculty members and the Orientation Day Committee, Arab American University organized an orientation day in Ramallah Campus to welcome its new enrolled students in the Faculty of Modern Sciences and the Faculty of Modern Media for the academic year 2020/2021.

On behalf of Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President, Dr. Mo’ayad Abu Saa’- the VP for Academic Affairs started by welcoming the new students and congratulated them on their acceptance and for being part of AAUP family. He hoped that Arab American University will be the start point for them to develop and improve themselves and said that welcoming the new students coincided with the 20th anniversary of AAUP. Dr. Abu Saa’ wished the new students all the luck and success in their academic journey.

Molecular Genetics and Genetic Toxicology Laboratories in AAUP

In a recent survey study done by the poll center in Arab American University and after a field survey to try to know the rate of people who were infected by COVID-19, it was concluded that the Palestinian people are far from the herd immunity. The rate of the Palestinian people in the West Bank who are actually holding antibodies to the virus is less than 0.5%.

Researchers took over 1335 random samples from Palestinians living in the different cities of the West Bank who agreed to be part of the study. The samples were laboratory tested to find out if there are any COVID-19 antibodies in the participants’ blood.

Results showed that only 0.5% of Palestinian people have antibodies of the virus and concluded that the Palestinian people are far away from the “herd immunity” and is still susceptible to be infected with the virus.

The Pathological Tissue laboratory at AAUP Medical Center in Ramallah campus that was licensed by the Ministry of Health announces that it will start receiving samples under the supervision of Dr. Jumana Jaradat.

The Pathological Tissue laboratory is the first and only one of its kind in Palestine that provides tissue-related diagnosis for oral, maxillofacial and facial diseases.

Admission Applications are now being Accepted to the Ph.D. in Information Technology Engineering Program for the for Fall Semester of Academic Year 2020/2021

The Deanship of Admission and Registration at Arab American University, Al-Quds University, and Palestine Polytechnic University announce the start of receiving applications for admission for the joint Ph.D. in Information Technology Engineering program, the first of its kind in Palestine for the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021, starting from Monday 13/07/2020 until Saturday 01/09/2020.

The work in the research laboratories in Arab American University

Arab American University received an approval from Ministry of Health to start using its laboratories for COVID-19 tests. Ms. May Alkaila- the Minister of Health wrote that this approval was based on the fact that the university has an efficient team to do the tests, and that this will contributes in controlling the infected cases. The minister ensured that the ministry will start transferring some of the cases to AAUP laboratories in case if the pandemic got any worse.

Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President said that the accreditation from the Palestinian Ministry of Health for the AAUP laboratories in Ramallah to start doing the COVID-19 tests came after the ministry ensured that all the scientific developed medical devices are available, in addition to the efficient and professional team to deal with patients.

The Molecular Genetics and Genetic Toxicology laboratories in AAUP

Trying to discover the genetic mutations for COVID-19 in Palestine

Under supervision of Academic staff from AAUP, AAUP Masters’ students of the Molecular Genetics and Genetic Toxicology Program and experts from the Ministry of Health, Arab American University in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Health launched a research project to study the genetic sequencing for COVID-19 between the Palestinian patients.

This research will provide new visions about the factors behind the development of the virus and how to follow-up the changes in the virus in our country. In addition, this research will provide answers to many questions about the virus that will help specialists and the authority to determine future mechanisms to deal with the virus and help to contain it in Palestine.
