AAUP Projects two Films to its Students that Reflect the Reality of Education and Health Sector in Palestine

The Deanship of Student Affairs in Arab American University organized the projection of two films produced by Ashtar Theater that addresses the reality of education and health sectors in Palestine. A discussion was also raised with audiences about the two films.

Mr. Luay Tafish- the Cultural and Artistic Department employee in the Deanship of Student Affairs said that the first film called “Mtawla Al Qessa” (Will it be a long story) that discusses the health sector crises and challenges, while the second film called “Madraset Al Rawa’ee” (School of Wonders) addresses the education sector and the modern and traditional methods, the differences and the challenges.

AAUP Organizes a Training Course in “Media and Photography” for the Public Relations Employees in the National Security Agency in the West Bank

The Public Relations Department and the Faculty of Arts in Arab American University organized a four-days training course about “Media and Photography” that targeted the public relations employees in the National Security Agency in the West Bank. The training course was held in the office of the national security agency in Tubas.

The training course started with a small ceremony that was attended by Colonel Ahmad Baz- the Deputy Commander of Tubas Area, Dr. Musadaq Barahmeh- the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Mr. Fadi Jumaa- the Public Relations Manager in AAUP and Colonel Kamal Dwaikat- the Public Relations and Media Manager in Tubas leadership center.

AAUP Receives the Representative of QS World University Rankings for MENA

Arab American University received Mr. Rami Awad- the Representative of the QS World University Rankings for MENA as in his reception were Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President, Dr. Adli Saleh- the Board Advisor for Planning and Development, Dr. Muayad Abusaa- the VP for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, Eng, Muhannad Hijawi- the Director General for Spark Company for Consulting Services, and Dr. Sami Sader- the Assistant to the Vice President for Planning and Development.

During the meeting, Mr. Awwad presented the most important aspects of the QS ranking that are considered in the Arab area and that are used in the world classification. He also explained the most important aspects that Arab American University can focus on in Palestine to excel and improve its ranking. Mr. Awwad also praised the level of Arab American University in its both campuses in Jenin and Ramallah and the expanding in the graduate studies and medical and scientific programs.

AAUP Signs an Agreement with the Preventive Security to Develop Capabilities and Offer Scholarships

Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President and the Major General Abdulqader Taamari- the General Director of the Preventive Security signed a cooperation agreement in the field of establishing research section of experts and specialists, develop capabilities, measure performance and analyze the data provided to citizens in addition to offer scholarships to the staff of the preventive security device in the graduate studies strategic programs.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, Eng. Bara Asfour- the Assistant to the President, Dr. Faisal Awartanni- the CEO of the university Center for Research and Poll, Brigadier Okroma Thabit- the Assistant to the general manager of the Preventive Security for Public Relations and Media, Brigadier Hijazi Jaabari- the Assistant to the general manager of the Preventive Security for training, and Colonel Nahil Azer- the Public Relations Manager.

Students of the Faculty of Graduate Studies from the programs of Conflict Resolution and International Law and Diplomacy met Mr. Hadi Amro- the US State Department Envoy and its accompanied delegation in AAUP- Ramallah Cammpus.

Dr. Dalal Iriqat- the VP for International Relations was in the reception of Mr. Amro and the delegation along with Dr. Muayad Abusaa- the VP for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, Eng. Bara Asfour- the Assistant to the President and Dr. Nowar Qotob- the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

AAUP - Ramallah Campus Hosts the First Educational Conference for the Latin Patriarchate Schools

Under the title “Building Capabilities … Opportunities and Challenges”, Arab American University- Ramallah Campus hosted the first educational conference for the Latin Patriarchate Schools in Palestine that was organized by the general management of Latin Patriarchate Schools in Jerusalem under the auspices of Prelate Pierbattista Pizzaballa and the Minister of Education Prof. Marwan Awartani.

The conference that targeted the workers and staff of the Latin Patriarchate Schools aims to build human capabilities, improve education, learn new contemporary topics in the modern era and honor winners of “creative teacher” competition that was organized by the Latin Patriarchate Schools.

AAUP Participates in Sponsoring "Al Quds and AlKarameh" Championship that is Planned to be in AAUP International Stadium

Arab American University participated in sponsoring “AlQuds and Alkarameh” championship that is planned to be in 19 March 2022 until 30 March 2022 under the auspices of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas "Abu Mazen" and His Majesty King Abdullah II “Abu Hussien” of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Six Palestinian and Jordanian Clubs will be part of this championship which are: Al-Wehdat SC, Al-Ramtha SC and Al-Faisaly FC from Jordan and Rafah Club, Hebron Club and Jabel Mukaber Club from Palestine.

Eng. Bara Asfour- the Assistant to the President of AAUP expressed his pride to choose Arab American University International Stadium to host the games and said that the university has financially supported the championship in addition to opening the other sports facilities for this championship

AAUP Organizes the HULT-Prize - On Campus 2022 Competition

Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence and under cooperation with the Organizing Committee of International Hult Prize Competition in AAUP has organized the final ceremony for HULT-Prize – On Campus 2022 Competition, with the participation of 11 teams from the different faculties and departments of the university.

The three teams that got the first places in the competition are:

The first place: Wild Space Project by Lina Azzam, Maysoun Nakhleh and Motasem Thaher.

The second place: Pure Al-Quds Project by Laith Nazzal, Anwar Ghannam and Batoul Salameh.

The third place: Candle Light Project by Munjed Amarneh, Hazar Sevien and Ahmad Asaad.

AAUP and Shenandoah Universities Sign MoU to Enhance International Partnership and Collaboration

Representing Prof. Ali Zeidan AbuZuhri- the University President, Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs in Arab American University singed an MoU with Dr. Tracy Fitzsimmons- the President of Shenandoah University, Virginia that aims to enhance collaboration efforts and international partnership between the two universities.

The signing took place in a ceremony that was organized in Shenandoah interactive lab (SCIL) with the presence of Eng. Bara Asfour- the Assistant to the President of AAUP and Dr. Ahmad Owais- the Associate Professor of Computer Science and the Director of E-Learning in AAUP as the team from Arab American University were in an official visit to the US to discuss new educational, research, activities and administrative methods.

AAUP Concludes the Activities of the Palestinian Day for Media Simulation in Ramallah Campus

The Faculty of Modern Media in Arab American University concluded the activities of the “Palestinian Day for Media Simulation” that was organized over two days in Ramallah Campus, under collaboration with the Ministry of Education and some media, educational and civil organizations that are interested in the media education. The event targeted the high school students of public and private schools in Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Jerusalem and Birzeit areas.

Dr. Hanadi Dwaikat- the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Media in AAUP confirmed that the event was successful and that the message was delivered to the targeted group as planned.

She also thanked all who contributed to make this day a successful one and clarified that this day will be an annual tradition for the Faculty of Modern Media with the local partners.
