A Training Course in “Criminal Defense” for Lawyers at AAUP

AAUP hosted a training course organized by the International Legal Institution (ILF), entitled “Criminal Defense”, targeting a number of lawyers. The course duration was 4 days a total of 20 hours.

This course is part of the cooperation between the Faculty of Law at the University and the International Legal Institution where a cooperation agreement was signed between both parties regarding legal clinics, workshops and training courses targeting law graduates and its students.

The course aims to develop lawyer’s abilities in how to represent before the Palestinian regular courts concerning criminal matters. Where the course illustrates form the beginning as when the accused is arrested by the police, then appears before the courts, until the appeal cassation.

Faculty Nursing at AAUP organized a workshop about “the causes of kidney failure and ways of treatment and prevention”, presented by Mr. Allam Rizkallah who worked at a number of hospitals and kidney care departments at the United Arab Emirates.

Delegates and directors from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and Nursing Directors from public and private hospitals and primary care attended the workshop. As well as Prof. Mohamed Assia, Dean of Allied Medical Sciences and President Assistant for Medical Schools Affairs, along with Dr. Emad Abu Khadr Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.

The Project “soft Landing” Its Qualified for the Second Phase for AAUP Students Within Ejada Entrepreneurship Project

The project “soft landing” is qualified for the two students Sewar Muhaid and Malk Shalabi from AAUP for the second phase with Ejada Entrepreneurship project, that is executed by the Excellence and Continuing Education Center at Hebron Polytechnic University in cooperation with Taawan institution.

The project is a tool (jacket and movable belt suspended in the ceiling for mobility and movement) designed for people with spinal cord injuries, stroke, neurological disorders affecting movement, as well as for elderly, where this tool prevents and reduces the rate of falls and complications.

The president assistant of administration and financial affairs at AAUP Eng. Bara Asfour welcomed a delegation from Bielefeld city – Germany, with a delegation from Zabadah municipality who have visited the university in order to discuss ways of cooperation in scientific and cultural fields, and academic exchange between the university and Bielefeld University in Germany.

During the visit, Eng. Asfour gave a briefing about the university its objectives, vision and philosophy. Along with the academic programs in doctoral, master and bachelor degrees. As he mentioned the university's scientific and academic partnerships with many American and European universities, which aim to exchange experiences, and to offer joint academic programs that meet the Palestinian market, and the global market with the latest scientific and technological developments.

AAUP and Al-Noukhba Medical Services and Consultation Co. for “MEDICARE LABS” signed a joint collaboration agreement in the fields of training and health research, at AAUP campus in Ramallah.

The agreement was signed by the President of Arab American University, Prof. Ali Zaidan Abu Zuhri, and the chairman of Al-Noukhba Medical Services and Consulting Company (Medicare Labs) Dr. Bashar Adnan Al-Karmi.

AAUP signed a collaboration agreement with Jacksonville University in Florida-USA for launching a PH.D. program in Nursing.

AAUP presented by Prof. Waleed Deeb the Academic Advisor signed the agreement with Jacksonville University presented by Prof. Randy Friburn Vice President, and Prof. Christine Sabianza, Vice-Academic, with in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Asia Assistant President at AAUP for Medical Faculties Affairs.

Prof. Christine Sabianza assured that this agreement is a result of Jacksonville University high confidence in AAUP in general and in the faculty of Nursing in particular, as for its academic reputation, faculty members and its graduates.

The President of the Palestinian Olympic Committee, Major General Jebril Rajoub assigned the Director of Sports Facilities at AAUP and lecturer at Faculty of Sport Sciences Mr. Oday Daraghmih to be the President of the Palestinian Tennis and Squash Federation.

Daraghmeh expressed his thanks and appreciation to Rajoub Brigade for his great confidence, pointing to the need to work on an integrated plan to promote the sport of tennis and squash in a scientific way, and the dissemination of the culture of this sport in all governorates of the country, pointing out that work is underway to find infrastructure and logistics, and put all efforts And experience in order to make the Palestinian Tennis and Squash Federation a success in all parts of Palestine.
